I have lived in Rockton, IL my entire life. I have had horses for the last 36 years and Friesian horses for the last 23 years. I have a degree in Business Management and have been the Office Manager for my families Construction Business for 25 years. I am the founder and owner of Black Pearl Friesians L.L.C. Black Pearl Friesian started as a small breeding operation with a small herd of mares many years ago. I have successfully built it into a full service stallion station and home to five KFPS approved stallions that ships fresh and frozen semen to all of North America. I have a passion for Friesian horses and educating people on this fabulous breed. I compete in Dressage and also do demonstrations throughout the year in conjunction with FHANA. Over the years I have built a strong Friesian herd for breeding, driving and riding. Dressage is my passion; I am a USDF silver medalist and achieved the Sport Elite status for a few of my Friesians.  I support the mission of the FHANA and will continue to work toward the common goal “To promote and preserve the KFPS Friesian Horse in North America”. As a stallion owner I am passionate about the future of our breed and the association and am more deeply involved in the association because of it.

I have been involved with Friesians for over 15 years. I began by leasing for a few years and then in 2010 I purchased my very first Friesian, Doeke LGF, when he was 10 months old. In February 2025 we imported a Friesian gelding, Aat van de Wolwarren, after my daughter went to the Netherlands for the stallion show! Currently my family owns 4 horses - 2 Friesians, 1 Purebred Arabian, and 1 Half Arabian. I grew up showing at open shows and in 4H, however, have stepped back from showing several years ago as my children are showing. My goal is to be back in the show ring myself in 2026. My daughter and I also exhibit our Friesians and an Arabian  at local events each year. I have also been a 4H leader for over 10 years. My passion is to truly help others in any way I can and watch them succeed/have fun! In my professional side, I am a Supervisor of Quality Audit for a Health Insurance company. I am very excited to be a part of the Midwest Friesian Horse Association!

I’ve been a crazy horse girl my entire life. I rode for years as a kid but never had the opportunity to own my own horse. Then, life happened and I went many years without having horses in my life. At the age of 50, my husband and I moved to Wisconsin and I found myself getting back into horses. My dream came true. I bought my first horse, Maximilian, who was an Andalusian cross that was big, black, and
beautiful. He was already 17 when I bought him. As he was getting older I started looking for a younger equine partner. My coach at the time suggested I meet a 5-year-old Friesian gelding she was training. While I’ve always thought the Friesian horse was
beautiful, I didn’t know much about them. I had never considered myself a Friesian Girl but once I met Patton, I instantly became one! He was everything I loved: big, black, beautiful, smart and kind. He is now 12 and I couldn’t love him more. We ride dressage and even started showing this year; our very first shows ever!
My husband and I own and run a boarding facility in Stoughton, Wisconsin. In addition, I have become interested in the breeding aspect of the Friesian horse focusing on low kinship, athleticism and temperament. I currently have one foal and another on the way. Thank you to all of my Friesian mentors helping me to develop my program. I look forward to meeting and working with you all through our club
activities and FHANA committees, keurings and events!

When my husband's Black Pearl was in training the trainer told us he had found the perfect Friesian mare for me, and she is. Arabell is on the smaller size but a perfect Friesian in every way. I have had other horses but know this was the right choice for me. I love going to special events like Horse Fair or Keurings to promote the breed in any way possible. In my spare time I am a volunteer at Gigi’s Playhouse.

I am from Chicago, IL and am currently studying Marketing at the University of Kentucky. I have grown up with Friesians all my life and they are by far my favorite breed. My family owns Macias Corral Friesians, and we have been importing and breeding Friesians for over 10 years. I oversee breeding and care for all 11 of our beautiful black pearls. I ride dressage, but I do not show although it is one of my goals for this year! Breeding is my focus and the most rewarding part of my life. I love the whole process of seeing the whole breeding process from insemination, to birth, and to training. I have been attending keurings since I was young and have loved taking horses to be inspected. I work as an intern in the FHANA office and am very passionate about educating others about this wonderful breed. I look forward to meeting more people who love Friesians as much as I do!
